HISTORY OF UNIVERSAL HYDRAULICS
In 1999, Jamie Farris and two business partners decided to launch Universal Hydraulics Inc. in Hastings, NE. After a few years, Jamie’s original partners were bought out by Phillip Werner of Werner Construction in 2001.
After a decade of having Phillip as a partner, Jamie had the opportunity to buy him out and be the sole proprietor in 2012.
Working in every facet of this small business, Jamie had the opportunity to deal with customers and vendors on a daily basis.
Becoming familiar with Dakota Fluid Power, their employees, and management, Jamie was introduced to the President of Dakota Fluid Power.
Both businesses wanted to expand, so a conversation began between Universal Hydraulics & Dakota Fluid Power. Over a span of several years, multiple meetings, and timing, a merger took place on October 1st, 2021.
From the inception of Universal Hydraulics Inc. Jamie has been blessed to enjoy the work he and his staff perform and the support of a fantastic customer base.
